Valencia’s international airport, also known as Manises Aiport (VLC), is located just 8 kilometers (5 miles) from the city center. The airport is well connected by a regular public bus, Metrobus, and a shuttle bus from the airport, Aerobus. The former takes 45 minutes to arrive in the city center whereas the Aerobus takes around 20 minutes. The airport is also conveniently connected by metro to the city. This trip only takes 15 minutes.

The airport has services by various different airlines to fifteen different European countries and New York. Some of these airlines include: Delta Airlines, Air Berlin, EasyJet, Iberia, Lufthansa and Ryanair.

By Bus or By Train

There are other transportation options for those who would rather fly into Barcelona and travel to Valencia from there. From Barcelona you can take a train or a bus. The journey by train takes just over three hours and costs around €50.00. The views are great along the way. If you would prefer a cheaper alternative you can always travel by bus from Barcelona for €20.00. The trip takes around four and a half hours.

By Metro

The metro in Valencia is known for being cheap, effective and clean. The metro has four different lines that connect the entire city. A single journey costs €1.10 but you can also buy a card for €5.60 that is valid for ten journeys. The metro works from 6:00 am until 11:00 pm during the week. It closes at 10:00 pm on weekends and runs less frequently.

By Taxi

Taxi is a popular means of transportation while visiting in Valencia. However it is not the cheapest option. It is not uncommon for taxi drivers to charge a minimum rate that can start anywhere from €3.50 to €4.00. Taxis are very easy to find on the streets.

By Bicycle

Valencia’s geography makes it a perfect city to explore by bike. The weather is dry and the land is flat, meaning that you probably will not ever find yourself caught in the rain while trying to ride up a hill.
